Camarón

Galgo Español · Male · Adult · 6 years

Camarón – a Galgo with heart and dignity has a lot of love to give. This wonderful Galgo lives in a Spanish animal shelter and is waiting to find the people who will show him that he belongs. Camarón is a truly noble dog – sensitive, gentle, and full of trust. He is not one to rush to the front; instead, he approaches gently, enjoys every loving touch, and wins hearts in his own quiet way. Camarón turns out to be a calmer, more balanced, and very affectionate companion. He seeks the company of his people, enjoys shared moments, and loves just being there. He is by no means pushy, but radiates a pleasant calmness that touches everyone. He also gets along excellently with other dogs. He is friendly, social, and enjoys the company of his fellow animals as much as that of humans. For Camarón, happiness means little – a soft spot, loving affection, and the feeling of belonging would suffice. Although his previous life was not always kind to him and he ended up in the animal shelter, Camarón has not lost his trust in people. He still greets every attention with a happy tail wag and looks forward to the future with hope. Now, all he needs is his own family. People who appreciate his gentle soul, give him security, and show him that he will never be left behind. Those who open their hearts to this special Galgo will gain a loyal friend for life – a dog who does not loudly ask for love but gives it with every fiber of his being.

About Camarón

What life with Camarón looks like

Camarón is a adult galgo español dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Camarón, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Camarón?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Camarón on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Camarón if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Camarón already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Camarón isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Camarón and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
