Camillo

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 3 months

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Camillo has found a home! His story: Cluj, Romania. Teddy, Camillo, Meeko, Millie, and Pico – the suitcases are packed! Who can resist the cute little snouts? Currently, five siblings are waiting in a private animal shelter in Romania to travel to Germany and hopefully be adopted into a loving and caring family forever. Camillo will likely remain small. Camillo looks like a small Goldendoodle, a curly retriever, simply adorable. He is open, cheerful, and happy about any kind of affection. In some situations, he can be unsure, but he gains confidence and courage every day. Essentially, he is a curious puppy. He is friendly and open, loves the people on site, and gets along well with other dogs and cats. In a few months, Camillo will then enter puberty. This time is an important phase in every dog's life, where the foundations for the future are set. Learning is quickly forgotten, and many rules are reevaluated. But we are sure that the clever Camillo will emerge from this phase as a confident dog, thanks to loving and consistent training, and develop into a great companion for his people. We wish for the sweet puppy a loving and sensitive adopter who gives him enough time and space to settle into the new living situation at his own pace. After the adjustment period, it is certainly advisable to enroll Camillo in positive training classes, as shared training will strengthen his confidence and the bond with people. The little man is then microchipped, dewormed, vaccinated, and treated for fleas. In his suitcase, he packs his EU Companion Animal Identification Card. Do you want to be the person who shows the little Camillo what a good dog life looks like? Many thanks, Valentina! You have given Camillo his name!

Vielen Dank Valentina! Du hast Camillo seinen Namen geschenkt!

About Camillo

What life with Camillo looks like

Camillo is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Camillo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Camillo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Camillo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Camillo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Camillo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Camillo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Camillo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
