Carra

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy

Who would give mixed breed Carra a home? Even the pretty Carra is one of the many young dogs who have had to spend their lives in a Bulgarian shelter. But here, the young female dog does not want to grow up and is therefore on the lookout for her own dog bed or a loving foster home. Carra shows a typical puppy-like playful, curious, and open behavior in the shelter. She enjoys cuddles very much and gets along well with her fellow animals. We wish for people for Carra who will give her time to settle into her new life and grow with her. She has not known much so far and must be introduced to everything gently. Things like house training, being alone, car rides, or walking on a leash are still new to her. Her people should know that a puppy brings time, patience, and responsibility – but also a lot of love, trust, and wonderful shared moments. With positive reinforcement, loving structure, and understanding, Carra will surely grow into a wonderful companion. Since Carra cannot be ruled out as a herding dog, we wish for people who have already familiarized themselves with the characteristics of these special dogs or are willing to do so. An ideal home would be on a farm with a securely fenced yard. Who would like to go through life with Carra, raise her age-appropriately, and show her how wonderful her own home can be? Carra is waiting to finally be seen. Adopting a shelter dog always means taking on a special responsibility and can also be a challenge. The dogs bring a backpack of past experiences or unlearned situations with them and need time to adjust to their new life. If you have serious interest in adopting Carra, please contact the responsible mediator at SALVA Hundehilfe. We would also be very happy about the provision of a foster home.

About Carra

What life with Carra looks like

Carra is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Carra, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Carra?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Carra on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Carra if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Carra already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Carra isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Carra and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
