adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Cerberus has found a home! His story: 80798 München. Cerberus will travel to his foster home in May! In Baia Mare, Romania, Cerberus, Flocky, Rumi, Tarja, and Tonya are waiting to find their families. These adorable, lively puppy children have overcome the challenging circumstances of shelter life. They are beautiful mixed-breed puppies with short smooth coats in all color variations. Cuddles and attention are very welcome to them. In a stable environment with patient people who bring the right mix of will, consistency, and love, they will surely develop well and become indispensable family members. Currently, they are 2-3 months old and are expected to reach a medium size. Cerberus is an energetic and playful boy who craves attention. With his fantastic completely black coat and expressive face, he is a perfect reflection of his mother and stands out from the litter, a real stunner for any black dog lover. Cerberus always shows friendliness, playfulness, and interest when interacting with his siblings and also the caregivers. To his good fortune, he now only lacks a family that will offer him a loving home. Cerberus is looking for people who will not expect anything from him at first and will show him how a normal dog life works. As a baby, he still has a lot to learn. We shouldn't take it personally if he makes the occasional mistake, as he doesn't know any better. Here, Cerberus should always be accompanied with a positively reinforcing training style. He is looking forward to his new life with nature walks and many cuddle hours. A visit to puppy school would surely make him happy and help his family become a well-coordinated team. Puppies should not be left alone as much as possible in their first year. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is approaching, with hormone chaos turning the lives of the little rascals upside down. They often forget everything they have learned so far, and their ears are on full alert. Therefore, it is especially important in this phase to be consistent but loving in their upbringing and stay on top of things, because this phase will pass. The entire litter is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-free. They possess an EU pet passport and are ready to meet their new family after a successful foster home stay. We would also be very happy to place them in a temporary foster home! The little ones are ready to meet their new family in mid/end of May. Who will give him a forever loving home? Thank you, Antje K., for giving Cerberus his beautiful name and thus the chance at a home! As of: 24.04.

Stand: 24.04.2024

About Cerberus

What life with Cerberus looks like

Cerberus is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cerberus, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cerberus?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cerberus on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cerberus if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cerberus already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cerberus isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cerberus and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
