Cereza

Female · Adult · 4 years

Cereza is a lovely cat, gentle and affectionate. However, she is still shy around people she doesn't know. Cereza's world was very small in her previous life. She lived in a backyard with two other cats, where she was fed by an elderly lady. One day, the lady passed away, and the cats were left behind, unable to understand what had happened. Cereza has coped fairly well with the move to the shelter. Nevertheless, she needs some time to get used to new people. We hope that sweet Cereza will soon find her forever family, so she can finally experience sleeping in her own cozy bed and being pampered by her own people. Do you want to be Cereza's human? You know that cats often don't cope well with changes, and Cereza will probably need time to gain confidence? Are you willing to invest patience and work with her? Excellent! Check out our homepage and fill out the self-assessment. We'll get back to you. And another general request to all cat owners: Please have your cats spayed! Street cats usually come from the uncontrolled mating of unspayed outdoor cats. Nobody wants to take care of the kittens, and they rarely survive longer than six months on the streets. Cars, diseases, parasites, and cruel people are deadly for these poor souls. Help prevent cat suffering by having your cats spayed! Thank you!

Danke!

About Cereza

What life with Cereza looks like

Cereza is a very small adult cat waiting at Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cereza, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cereza?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cereza on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cereza if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cereza already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cereza isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cereza and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
