Die „lachende“ Cora

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 4 years

The “smiling” Cora is searching for her happy home—female dog, born around early 2022, approximately 50 cm tall at the shoulder, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, with EU pet passport. She’s still waiting in Romania. Mama Cora, who always seems to have a little smile on her face, was found together with her puppies Cody, Collin, and Claire (see also www.sos-strassentiere.de) in Romania near our animal rescuer’s shelter. Apparently, they were abandoned there “with good intentions”—hoping that someone would take care of this little family. And of course, someone did... Mama Cora and her little brood are now living at the shelter. As expected, all of them are still a bit shy and uncertain. In the kennel, the family feels safe and shows quite an open demeanor. When they first went out into the open area for a photo shoot, they were overwhelmed by this new situation, the many unfamiliar smells and sounds, and stayed hidden, exploring everything with the necessary caution. Once they’re back in their familiar environment, however, they quickly shed their uncertainty, make contact with their caregivers, and happily let themselves be petted. Cora is a very sociable lady dog who gets along well with all other dogs. She cared for her offspring with great love and devotion. Once she’s gained trust in people, she also shows herself to be very friendly and affectionate toward them. With strangers, Cora just needs a bit of time to get to know them before revealing her friendly nature. For the “smiling” Cora, we’re looking for a sensitive home with a garden—and we’d also welcome a foster home. Before leaving Romania, Cora will undergo tests for babesiosis, borreliosis, ehrlichiosis, anaplasmosis, dirofilariosis, and leishmaniasis. Cora is still in Romania. — Contribution toward expenses:

About Die „lachende“ Cora

What life with Die „lachende“ Cora looks like

Die „lachende“ Cora is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Die „lachende“ Cora, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Die „lachende“ Cora?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Die „lachende“ Cora on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Die „lachende“ Cora if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Die „lachende“ Cora already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Die „lachende“ Cora isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Die „lachende“ Cora and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
