ASHKA

German Shepherd · Male · Adult · 7 years

ASHKA – Bollerkopf with a gentle soul 🥰 – Corsican Shepherd Dog, 7.5 years old, born around 2019, vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, EU pet passport. – Currently waiting in France! – Ashka is a neutered male dog who is currently still at the kill shelter. Visually, it seems like there might have been some Molosser-type ancestry mixed in—though you can never be entirely sure… according to his passport, he’s a 6-year-old Corsican Shepherd Dog. Ashka was very happy about the visit to his kennel and would have loved to tear down that silly fence. When taken outside, it quickly becomes clear that he’d do just about anything for a few treats. 🤭 He seems to already know some basic commands and walks beautifully on a leash. He takes treats very carefully from your hand and absolutely loves being petted! 🥰 Ashka is a calm dog who’d happily trade the hard kennel floor for a soft couch. We haven’t yet had the chance to test his compatibility with other dogs. He has no issues with his kennel neighbors. You can also find videos of him on our Facebook page. ASHKA - Bollerkopf mit sanfter Seele 🥰 - Korsischer Schäferhund, 7,5 J., geb.ca.2019, geimpft, gechippt, kastriert, EU-Paß. - Wartet in Frankreich ! About ASHKA

What life with ASHKA looks like

ASHKA is a adult german shepherd dog waiting at Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting ASHKA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about ASHKA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw ASHKA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt ASHKA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is ASHKA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if ASHKA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know ASHKA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
