CEZAR

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 4 years

CEZAR 80489 (POA) - Male, neutered, born approx. 2022, shoulder height approx. 40 cm, in the animal shelter since 2022. Some dogs simply have no luck. Black, unremarkable and a bit shy. That is enough to spend an entire dog's life in the shelter. Cezar came to the shelter as a young dog, and to this day he has not been given a chance. His face has already turned gray, even though he is not old yet. But the stress of the shelter does not pass the dogs by without leaving a mark. We have Cezar brought outside. He walks well on the leash and wants to head toward the gate. He is also one of the dogs who now and then gets to enjoy a walk with volunteers. At first Cezar is a bit unsure of us. He doesn't understand why we are standing around him, all of us, in one spot. But it doesn't take long before he leans in and wants to be petted. When his caregiver arrives, he is truly delighted. You can tell the two of them like each other. Cezar lives peacefully in the kennel with male and female dogs of various sizes. Will this sweet, unfortunately somewhat chubby little button get a chance to leave the shelter? He is certainly a fine fellow who forms a close bond with his people. (A 10/2026)

CEZAR 80489 (POA) - Rüde, kastriert, geb. ca. 2022, Schulterhöhe ca. 40 cm, i m Tierheim seit 2022 Manche Hunde haben einfach kein Glück. (A 10/2026)

About CEZAR

What life with CEZAR looks like

CEZAR is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hundehilfe Polen in Dierkshausen.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting CEZAR, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about CEZAR?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundehilfe Polen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw CEZAR on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt CEZAR if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundehilfe Polen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is CEZAR already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if CEZAR isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundehilfe Polen early rather than rehoming privately; they know CEZAR and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
