Chainy

Mixed Breed · Female

Beautiful Chainy is 14½ and is looking for somewhere peaceful and loving to enjoy her retirement years. She is an incredibly affectionate girl whose favourite place is curled up beside you on the sofa or bed having cuddles. Chainy is a champion headbutter when she wants some attention and will happily remind you that there is always room for a little more fuss! She still enjoys the occasional play with a piece of string, but these days she is happiest snoozing, snuggling and spending time with her person. Chainy will sometimes potter out into the garden for a little wander, but she is primarily an indoor cat and will need access to a litter tray. She is a wonderfully loving older lady who enjoys her meals almost as much as she enjoys her cuddles, and she isn't shy about requesting either! She has a specific diet, although this is not prescription food. Because of this, Chainy could be considered either for permanent rehoming or as a long-term foster, with support available towards the cost of her food. Her owners are absolutely devastated to be saying goodbye to Chainy, but due to an unsafe change in their home circumstances, they feel that finding her a calm, secure and loving home is the kindest option for her. They would love to find someone who will cherish her through her retirement years and, if possible, keep them updated occasionally so that they can see her settled, loved and enjoying all the cuddles she deserves.Chainy is spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated and is up to date with flea and worm treatment. If you would like to register your interest in beautiful Chainy please get in touch by email: - telling us about yourself, family and working hours and giving us your full address including postcode.

About Chainy

What life with Chainy looks like

Chainy is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Cheshire Cats Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chainy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chainy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Cheshire Cats Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chainy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chainy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Cheshire Cats Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Chainy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chainy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Cheshire Cats Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chainy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
