An acute case of animal hoarding. The owner was completely overwhelmed, the animals were barely cared for, almost all the female dogs had large lumps, but no puppies were present. The dogs were seized, and we had no hesitation: Thanks to kind people who donated a "ticket out of hell," we were able to take all these puppies in and bring them to Linares. The thought of them landing in a Perrera (killing station) was unbearable. In our shelter, we now see many sad, deeply insecure eyes. The past has certainly left its mark on the souls of these dogs. No one knows what they went through. While they are now being medically treated, vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped in Andalusia by our animal protection colleagues, we are searching for the most important piece of the puzzle for their healing: We are looking for people with patience, heart, and empathy, maybe exactly you? This is one of them, Chanel – a sad, cautious, but also curious little pup on the lookout for love! But the current events have completely turned her little world upside down. Chanel is still quite insecure and shows a lot of devotion and shyness to the caregivers. She simply doesn't understand that the hand approaching her now means her well-being from now on, but if you take some time for her, a very affectionate girl will surely come to the fore. What Chanel currently lacks in confidence towards people is compensated for in her interactions with fellow animals: She is absolutely compatible and social. A pre-existing, sovereign only dog in the new home would certainly be a great help for Chanel. A buddy she can look to and who can show her what a carefree dog life can be. Chanel is ready, her suitcases for Germany are already packed. What she now needs is a second chance. A chance with people who don't expect perfection but give a stranded soul the time it needs to settle in.
