Chanel

Labrador Retriever · Female

Chanel is a friendly and outgoing Labrador (A-line) who loves to swim and play fetch. She is leash-trained, can be left alone, and enjoys car rides. She is generally friendly with other dogs but may become pushy when excited. She is also wary of unusual noises and strangers in the garden. Chanel has mild grooming issues, but otherwise is a healthy and active dog. She is looking for a home with a garden, preferably in a rural area, where she can receive plenty of attention and exercise. Someone with experience in managing a dog's behavior is ideal.

Rasse: Labrador (A-Linie) Schultergröße: ca. 50 cm Chanel kennt viele Kommandos, kann aber manchmal etwas eigensinnig sein. Sie liebt es zu apportieren, mag Suchspiele und generelle Beschäftigung. Sie bringt gerne Gegenstände, vergessene Schlüssel gehören ab sofort der Vergangenheit an. Für ihre Rasse typisch liebt sie das Wasser und schwimmt sehr gerne. Chanel ist Menschen gegenüber sehr freundlich und aufgeschlossen, im Eifer des Gefechts aber manchmal etwas distanzlos. Sie liebt die Aufmerksamkeit und sonnt sich gerne im Mittelpunkt. Bei ungewöhnlichen Geräuschen oder fremden Personen im Garten ist sie wachsam und zeigt es an. Hunden gegenüber ist sie grundsätzlich freundlich, an der Leine wird allerdings hier und da gepöbelt. Katzen und Kinder kennt sie. Chanel ist leinenführig, kann alleine bleiben und liebt es Auto zu fahren. Zu Ressourcenverteidigung neigt sie nicht. Sie hat leichte Fellprobleme, die Ursache ist bisher ungeklärt. Für diese wundervolle, menschenbezogene Dame suchen wir ein möglichst ländliches Zuhause, gerne mit Garten. Jemand mit ausreichend Erfahrung, der sie entsprechend auslastet, ihr Sicherheit und eine klare, ruhige Führung zukommen lässt. display: none !important; .lSSlideOuter .lSPager.lSGallery {

About Chanel

What life with Chanel looks like

Chanel is a medium-sized adult labrador retriever dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Porz in Köln.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chanel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chanel?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Porz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chanel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chanel if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Porz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Chanel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chanel isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Porz early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chanel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
