Chanelle

Keeshond · Unknown · Adult · 6 years

Get to know Jack & Chanelle, two lovely Keeshond siblings who are on the lookout for a warm, new home. These inseparable friends were surrendered due to their previous owner's lack of time. However, they did not come up short and received the care and attention they needed. Jack & Chanelle grew up in a young family with children and are therefore familiar with family life. They enjoy company and find it delightful to be part of the daily happenings. They know a garden well and feel completely at home there. They have not yet mastered walking on a leash, so their new family will need to take it easy with that. They are both well-behaved, know the crate, and can stay alone in the garage without any problems. Like many alert Keeshonden, they like to keep an eye on things. That's why they sometimes bark at moving things like a lawn mower or passersby. Even when they are alone, they can be quite noisy. A family that understands this and is willing to work further on this behavior would be ideal. Jack & Chanelle can only be placed together, as they are very attached to each other and derive much support from each other's company. Both dogs will need to be spayed or neutered in the future. Are you looking for a cheerful duo that provides double the love, fun, and joy? Then Jack & Chanelle might just be the new housemates you're looking for! Interested in these two cuties? Feel free to contact us for more information or a meet-and-greet. In your response, we would appreciate a fun and detailed motivation where you introduce yourself and your family. Also describe how their ideal future would look with you: where they will live, how much time you can dedicate to them, how you handle being alone, and what plans you have to further work with them.

About Chanelle

What life with Chanelle looks like

Chanelle is a small adult keeshond dog waiting at Dierenasiel Ganzeweide in Veurne.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chanelle, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chanelle?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierenasiel Ganzeweide handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chanelle on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chanelle if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierenasiel Ganzeweide will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Chanelle already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chanelle isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierenasiel Ganzeweide early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chanelle and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
