Charlotte

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Charlotte fecha de nacimiento / dob: 15-04-2025 aprox.Personality: Charlotte is an extremely cuddly, affectionate girl, especially at bedtime. She loves sleeping as close as physically possible: tucked into the crook of your arm, sprawled across your chest, or wedged into any warm valley between you and your bedmate under the blankets. She always finds the comfiest spot, even if she has to step over her sisters to claim it 😹 Head and chin scratches are her absolute favourites, and she responds with a gentle purr and a darling soft, high-pitched meow. She is remarkably calm and co-operative in situations which typically stress out a lot of cats. At the vet she is a dream: docile, easy to handle, relaxed in the carrier, and unfazed by nail trims. At home, Charlotte is slowly learning to enjoy being picked up. When she’s feeling especially trusting, she will perch on your shoulder in a parrot-or-pirate style pose, though she still retains a little of her street-cat instinct and doesn’t like feeling “trapped.” This is melting away into the past as she steps forward into her beautiful future, filled only with love and trust. (Her “heart” can also be won over with a liquid snack, no surprises there! 🍽️😼)In her early weeks settling in, Charlotte was affectionate but cautious. She allowed gentle head pats, but mostly chose to express closeness by following her human everywhere, quietly shadowing them from room to room, always wanting to be nearby and observing what was going on. She is a soft, loving soul, very gentle in both voice and manner, and still very much a kitten at heart.Charlotte and her siblings (Lily, Jill, and Jack: Jack and Jill are being fostered separately now) were born in a street cat colony. By following a TNR (Trap–Neuter–Release) program, many of the cats in the area have already been sterilised. Their mother, clever and protective, kept them hidden until they were big enough to venture out. Now she herself is starting to trust people, and we will be looking for a home for her as well.If adopting as a pair we recommend: one of her siblings, Lily, Jill or Jack. Can Iive with kids? Yes!Can live with other animals? Yes. She and her sisters have been around a small, calm dog already.Ideal home: To live with her sister Lily or another compatible cat(s), with any type of family - whether a single person, a couple, or a household with children. Please note that we give priority to people who already have a compatible resident cat or who adopt a pair. A balcony or terrace is always a plus! Adopta! <img src="

About Charlotte

What life with Charlotte looks like

Charlotte is a large young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Gatalunya Cat Rescue in Spain.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Charlotte, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Charlotte?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Gatalunya Cat Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Charlotte on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Charlotte if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Gatalunya Cat Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Charlotte already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Charlotte isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Gatalunya Cat Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Charlotte and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
