CHASE Update 09.01.2023 Chase has now been neutered. Here are two videos of Chase. Update 05.09.2022 New photos of our Chase Chase was originally rescued in China, lived for about 4 months in a foster home, and has been in his current family in Germany since January 2020. He is being given up by the family because they are overwhelmed with him. Chase is affectionate with his family and gets along well with the existing children. He wants to please, loves his cuddles, and is very eager to learn. He knows basic commands. In the garden, he is very alert, likes to play with his ball, and is quiet as long as no one goes past the fence. Chase has a strong protective instinct and is very suspicious of strangers. He does not like visitors and does not want to be touched. It should be possible to separate him from visitors and train visitor situations. Chase loves his box as a calm-down spot, so this could be integrated into training very well. Outdoors, he pulls strongly on the leash and is aggressive towards other dogs. He is very excited and nervous and gets distracted by everything. We are looking for a dog-experienced family for Chase that can give him security and train him step-by-step with walks and contact with fellow animals. This should be done with the help of an experienced dog trainer. Chase is more of a male dog and we are looking for a quiet living environment with a garden for him. Where can Chase finally arrive and gain trust? Contact: Ilka Brinkmann Email:

Kontakt AnsprechpartnerinIlka Brinkmann Mail:

About Chase

What life with Chase looks like

Chase is a adult doberman dog waiting at Dobermann-Nothilfe Mudersbach in Mudersbach.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chase, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chase?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dobermann-Nothilfe Mudersbach handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chase on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chase if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dobermann-Nothilfe Mudersbach will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Chase already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chase isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dobermann-Nothilfe Mudersbach early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chase and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
