Chester

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 9 years

This is cheeky and cheerful Chester ! – a wonderful little Corgi, 9 years old currently being fostered in Thurrock, Essex and looking for his forever home through All Animals Rescue and Rehome. Sadly used as a stud and show dog until his owner died, he now deserves a loving home where he is cared for and cherished and can put his feet up and enjoy a life of leisure. Chester can live with female dogs or be an only dog and could happily live alongside dog savvy cats. Children aged 13yrs + would also be fine too. He was very poorly on his arrival at rescue but is now ready for his next chapter to begin. He has been neutered and had a dental which required most of his teeth coming out. He is also chipped, de flead and wormed. Chester adores humans and is a real charmer. Cuddles are his favourite and everyone instantly falls in love with him. Walks are also on Chester's favourite things to do list. Walking nicely on his lead, he is a pleasure to have trotting by your side. He doesn't need long walks, just gentle strolls and travels well in the car. Chester is house trained, non destructive, and can be left for short periods on his own where he will curl up in his bed and wait for you to return to give him lots of love and attention. This little chap will bring a smile to your face everyday and will pay back your love for him ten fold. He so deserves the best ever forever home. ———————————————— If you think you could offer cheerful Chester the loving retirement he deserves, please contact All Animals Rescue and Rehome below: Email: for more information or a Pre-Adoption form. About Chester

What life with Chester looks like

Chester is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at The Oldies Club in United Kingdom.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chester, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chester?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. The Oldies Club handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chester on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chester if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — The Oldies Club will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Chester already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chester isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with The Oldies Club early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chester and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
