Millie Tess

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Please help Millie & Tess by sharing this page! Adorable duo Millie & Tess are Shar Pei X Collie sisters looking for a cat-free forever home or long term foster home in the south of England. They're in the care of Helping Hounds at their kennels in Grayshott, Hampshire. They get overlooked because they're a pair and on the large side but they are gentle, biddable, soppy ladies who will enhance their new home with loveliness! Millie loves her cuddles and will pop herself on a chair ready for tickles. Tess will come for strokes but then takes herself off and lies quietly nearby. Millie really loves her grunting pig toys… …which will just HAVE to go with her when the pair find their new home. Tess is the more social of the two when it comes to other dogs while Millie is getting calmer the more she sees other dogs and can wait while other dogs walk past. They both thoroughly enjoy their on lead walks around the rescue and their off-lead romps in a secure field. Both ladies are clean and well behaved in the home. They can be left for a couple of hours and will just settle down and wait for you to return… …with treats and fuss! Millie & Tess are spayed and vaccinated. Naturally, they want a nice garden to potter about in. They both enjoy getting cuddles from volunteers at the rescue but they could be forgiven for being a bit glum because no one has offered them a home yet. A long term foster placement or permanent home with soft furnishings and people to call their own would cheer them right up! If you want to enquire about fostering or adopting this cute pair of cuddle monsters, please complete the relevant application form on the Helping Hounds website here . Please say you saw Millie & Tess on the Oldies Club website. This replaces Millie & Tess' original page dated 27 January 2024.

About Millie Tess

What life with Millie Tess looks like

Millie Tess is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at The Oldies Club in United Kingdom.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Millie Tess, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Millie Tess?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. The Oldies Club handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Millie Tess on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Millie Tess if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — The Oldies Club will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Millie Tess already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Millie Tess isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with The Oldies Club early rather than rehoming privately; they know Millie Tess and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
