When the little Chopper came to us at the animal shelter, we hoped that his condition would improve with modern medicine through an operation, so he could be rehomed and live a normal cat life. But no, he is what is known as an ataxie cat, meaning he is disabled. However, it does seem that he feels comfortable at the moment, in the cat room together with a young kitten. He cannot be rehomed, but people can adopt him as a patron and visit and stroke him as often as they like. The typical movement of the disabled cat is always a bit hectic and jerky, and he rarely sits calmly and enjoyably on someone's lap. But being stroked is something he also really enjoys.

Als der kleine Chopper zu uns ins Tierheim kam hofften wir noch, dass sein Zustand dank der heutigen Medizin mit einer Operation besser wird. Er soll doch vermittelt werden und ein normales Katzenleben führen können. Aber nein, er ist eine sogenannte Ataxiekatze, d.h. er ist behindert. Jedoch hat man schon den Eindruck, dass er sich momentan, im Katzenzimmer zusammen mit einer jungen Kätzin wohlfühlt. Er kann jedoch nicht vermittelt werden. Gerne können Menschen eine Patenschaft für ihn abschließen und ihn so oft wie möglich besuchen und streicheln. Die typische Art der Bewegung der behinderten Katze ist immer etwas hektisch und ruckartig, er wird selten ruhig und genussvoll auf dem Schoß eines Menschen sitzen.
