Adopt Chupetin

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

They are in the foster care home of Chupetín and Plazuelo, and they have many things in common: they are two good, beautiful, affectionate, sociable kittens who love the company of people. Sadly, they also share the fact that they are both infected with Feline Leukaemia Virus (FeLV). At the moment, their health is good and they are two more kittens. Now they have each other at the animal shelter because one of the particularities of kittens with Feline Leukaemia Virus (FeLV) is that they cannot coexist with kittens that do not have it to avoid the risk of contagion. Despite their mutual company, at ALBA they are condemned to be apart from everything. Obviously, we spend as much time with them as possible, but while other cats live in the catteries, they are alone in a puppy pen of 1 m² where they cannot run or hide. In short, they cannot be cats. In a home, they could enjoy the company and affection of the humans who would live with them, thus having a normal life. All animals deserve a dignified home regardless of their circumstances, as they did not choose them. Will you choose them?--------- Chupetín appeared in a feral cat colony of semi-controlled cats from which ALBA had already rescued more cats. The people who feed the cats noticed that the little one was not well and alerted us. When Chupetín arrived at ALBA, his condition was not good; he had an infected tooth that was extracted, and the tests came back positive for Feline Leukaemia Virus (FeLV). He has since gained strength and is looking very handsome; he is getting stronger. After a prudent period of time, we will repeat the tests, but unless a miracle happens, Chupetín will need a home to be an only cat or will need to be with other leukaemia-infected cats. He is super affectionate and very good; he loves being pampered and quickly turns on his back. We need a little house for him. Will you make room for him in your home and your heart? Chupetín needs you. He is already neutered. This animal needs to be the only pet in the home.

About Chupetin

What life with Chupetin looks like

Chupetin is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at ALBA Protectora Madrid in Madrid.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chupetin, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chupetin?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ALBA Protectora Madrid handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chupetin on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chupetin if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ALBA Protectora Madrid will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Chupetin already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chupetin isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ALBA Protectora Madrid early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chupetin and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
