Chuqui (chucky)

Male

CHUQUI is a gorgeous, young breton who has had to fend for himself on the streets in Spain for quite a while. He is in foster in Swineshead, Boston, Lincs. He's a lovely boy and has shown no signs of any aggression on lead walks, he just is lacking in confidence which will obviously grow over time. He arrived into his foster home very frightened and unsure of what was expected of him. Every week foster parents have noticed small progressive changes in him. He is a gentle, fearful boy, unsure of people and dogs alike. He hasn't been in the company of children, but this boy is so gentle and mild mannered we don't envisage any problems. His trust has to be earned with lots of patience and kindness. He hasn’t been cat tested, so no to resident cats. Although he has settled well in his foster home, he looks to the resident dog to lead the way and he can still be unsure of certain noises and unexpected movements. CHUQUI had a great run in an enclosed field with 5 other spaniels and it was wo

About Chuqui (chucky)

What life with Chuqui (chucky) looks like

Chuqui (chucky) is a small adult dog waiting at Save Our Spaniels in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chuqui (chucky), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chuqui (chucky)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Save Our Spaniels handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chuqui (chucky) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chuqui (chucky) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Save Our Spaniels will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Chuqui (chucky) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chuqui (chucky) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Save Our Spaniels early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chuqui (chucky) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
