01/19/2025 Another unadoptable ❓ Čiko has been with us for more than a month and has had recurring coughing issues - at first we attributed it to a cold, since CRP was in the normal range. However, the tests on Friday brought BAD NEWS - Čiko's lungs are in bad shape 😟 Chronic inflammation and bleeding into the lungs, Čiko has lung collapses caused by long-term neglect of his cough. He has already been given antibiotics and drainage medication, and as he needed to have an eye tooth extracted, which resulted in a fistula, we first have to wait for the wound to heal, and then we plan to start corticosteroid inhalation treatment. Everything will depend on how he reacts to the treatment 🙏 11/11/2024 Čiko quickly adapted in a loving foster care - he is an incredible golden gem and a big softie, follows his caregiver like her shadow and has especially taken a liking to her little granddaughter 💓 The cough has been successfully treated, as for the heart, the condition remains unchanged. So far, he has been diagnosed as B2 and is on medication, needing to be monitored. We are looking for a family that will appreciate his friendly nature - ideally, if the owners have experience with cardiac dogs and the possibility of being home from work - Čiko should not be left alone regularly and for long periods. He can be a buddy for a female dog, but he would prefer to be an only dog. He likes children who know how to behave around a dog. Due to his health issues and age, the new family must be prepared to handle higher veterinary costs. He currently lives a short distance from BA, and we are currently only looking for a home in Slovakia because due to the medication, we cannot vaccinate him yet. 11/30/2024 Today we received this 3.7kg Chihuahua, he is 12 years old. He is a bit chilly, but that's the smaller problem. Čiko is a cardiac patient, ‼️his heart is enlarged up to the size of a 5kg dog‼️ and has mitral valve insufficiency, he immediately received heart medication and in two weeks he will have a check-up. The good news is that other results are good and he is in good condition for his age. We found out about him accidentally - the lady who helped us earlier with transporting another dog asked us for help with an older Chihuahua, who was left alone in the house after his owner ended up in palliative care and will not return. The family can't take him and the neighbors just feed him... Thanks to the offer for fostering from Mrs. Marcelka, we were able to accept Chika and learned more details - Čiko comes from the Czech Republic, he was abused and it took a long time before he stopped being afraid. In addition, he is a cardiac patient, until the end of 2022 he regularly visited the vet and took heart medication.

19.01.2025 ĎALŠÍ NEADOPTOVATEĽNÝ❓️ Čiko je u nás vyše mesiaca a za ten čas mal opakovaný problém s kašľom – najskôr sme to pripisovali prechladnutiu, keďže aj CRP mal v norme. No piatkové vyšetrenia nám priniesli ZLÉ SPRÁVY – Čikove pľúca sú na tom zle 😟 Chronický zapal a krvácanie do pľú, Čiko má kolapsy na pľúcach spôsobené dlhodobým zanedbaním jeho kašla. Dostal zatial antibiotiká a lieky na odvodnenie a nakoľko mu bolo nutné vytrhnúť očný zub, kde sa mu spravila fistula, tak najskôr musíme počkať kým sa rana zahojí a potom plánujeme začať s inhalačnou liečbou kortikoidmi. Vsetko bude záležať od toho, ako zareaguje na liečbu 🙏 11.11.2024 Čiko sa v láskavej dočaske rýchlo stihol udomácniť – je to jedno neskutočné zlatíčko a veľký maznoš, dočaskárku prenasleduje ako jej tieň a veľmi si obľúbil aj jej malú vnučku 💓 Kašel sa podarilo preliečiť, čo sa týka srdiečka, tam je stav nezmenený. Zatiaľ je jeho diagnostikovaný ako B2 a má nasadené lieky s tým, že ho treba sledovať. Hľadáme pre neho rodinu, ktorá ocení jeho priateľskú povahu – ideálne ak by majitelia mali skúsenosť so psíkom kardiakom a možnosť robiť z domu – Čiko by nemal ostávať pravidelne a dlhšie sám doma. Môže aj ako parťák k fenke, no radšej by bol ako jedináčik. Má rád aj detičky, ktoré už vedia, ako sa k psíkovi správať. Vzhľadom na jeho zdravotný problém a vek musí byť nová rodina pripravená zvládnuť vyššie náklady na veterinu. Ak vás Čiko zaujal a myslíte si, že by ste mu vedeli poskytnúť ten pravý domov, ozvite sa nám. Aktuálne býva kúsok od BA, zatiaľ domov hľadáme len na SK keďže zatiaľ ho kvôli nasadenej liečbe nemôžme očkovať. 30.11.2024 Dnes sme prijali tohoto 3,7kg čivaviačika, má 12 rokov. Je trochu prechladnutý, no to je ten menší problém. Čiko je kardiak, ‼️má zväčšené srdiečko až na veľkosť 5kg psíka‼️a nedomykavosť chlopne, rovno dostal lieky na srdiečko a o 2 týždne ho čaká kontrola. Dobrou správou je, že ostatné výsledky má dobré a na svoj vek je v dobrej kondícii. Dozvedeli sme sa o ňom náhodou – pani, ktorá nám pred časom pomohla s prevozom iného psíka, nás poprosila o pomoc pre staršieho čivaviačika, ktorý po tom, čo jeho panička skončila v hospici a už sa nevráti, ostal sám v dome. Rodina si ho vziať nevie a krpca chodia len kŕmiť… Vďaka ponuke na dočasku od pani Marcelky, sme mohli Čika prijať a dozvedeli sme sa ďalšie podrobnosti – Čiko pochádza z Čiech, vraj bol týraný a dlho trvalo, kým sa prestal báť. Je to navyše kardiak, do leta 2022 chodil pravidelne k lekárovi a bral lieky na srdiečko.
