Adopt Cilla

Cane Corso · Female · Young · 2 years

The three sisters came from the area around Porto Palma, where they were likely abandoned and left to their fate. Kind-hearted people informed our partners in Stintino, who, as expected, took the three girls into rescue. Even though they were already at the limits of their capacity: the thought of the three becoming wild and then becoming pregnant, contributing to another cycle of hardship, was unbearable to them. In the rescue, the three, now named Cicca, Cilla, and Cocca, are in safety. Cicca, Cilla, and Cocca are still somewhat reserved with strangers; they seem to still remember the bad experiences they had with humans. But when they realize that no harm is intended, they do relax. They get along well with the other dogs. Unfortunately, it is quite chaotic in the rescue due to the high number of dogs being cared for, and our partners lack the time to give each dog the attention they need. Therefore, we very much hope that Cicca, Cilla, and Cocca can soon embark on their journey to Germany. Here, they should find a home with loving people who will give them a close family connection, safety, and security. Would you give Cicca, Cilla, or Cocca the chance to find a forever home? March 1, 2025: Cilla was allowed to travel to her German foster home. March 15, 2025: Cilla has already adapted well to her foster home. The pretty female dog is friendly and people-oriented. She especially loves the toberuns in the secure garden, where she shows her athletic side. Cilla now travels comfortably in the car and is house-trained. On walks, she is very attuned to her foster parent, needing to develop more self-confidence outdoors. She is sometimes unsettled in new situations and seeks protection from her foster parent. Cilla likes to snuggle with her foster parent and seeks her close presence. For a short period, Cilla can also be left alone and will make herself comfortable on the couch. Now, she is looking for a forever home, preferably in a household with another confident dog. March 31, 2026: Unfortunately, the pretty Cilla, who was rehomed in March 2025, has lost her home. Her foster parent has decided to take this step due to health reasons. Now called Indi, she has become very attached to her primary caregiver. The people who must now take over care due to their foster parent's illness find it difficult to gain Indi's trust.

About Cilla

What life with Cilla looks like

Cilla is a young adult cane corso dog waiting at ProTier e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cilla, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cilla?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ProTier e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cilla on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cilla if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ProTier e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cilla already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cilla isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ProTier e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cilla and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
