Cinnamon

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

Cinnamon needs a family before the final Happy Bus of the year. Cinnamon and her siblings were found when they were only a few days old. Far too young to survive without help, they were lovingly raised by hand. Since those first fragile days, Cinnamon has known nothing but love, kindness and affection. She has been reared in a home alongside cats and other dogs, helping her grow into a friendly, affectionate and well-socialised young dog. Cinnamon is a beautiful, black Labrador-looking girl with a white chest and little white toes. She is expected to be around Labrador size when fully grown. Sadly, black dogs are often considered unlucky in Portugal and are frequently overlooked. Cinnamon’s appearance should not determine her future, but it makes finding someone to choose her even more urgent. Cinnamon will be around seven months old by November. As there will be no Happy Bus in December, November is her final opportunity to reach the UK this year. If she misses it, she will enter the new year as a bigger, older puppy. Larger dogs take up more room on the transport, so she risks being overlooked again in favour of younger, smaller puppies. Cinnamon has done nothing wrong. She has spent her whole life surrounded by love and is simply waiting for a family who will continue giving her the affection and security she has always known. Could Cinnamon be the missing member of your family? Cinnamon will arrive fully vaccinated and with comprehensive health checks, including: Please share Cinnamon’s story. Her family may simply not have found her yet. Most of our dogs have been found abandoned as young pups, discarded as unwanted litters, as is often the case in Portugal where neutering is not as common as in the UK. After rescue, all of our pups spend time in private shelters and foster homes, meaning they arrive happy, healthy and well socialised. UK Registered Charity Number 1183775

About Cinnamon

What life with Cinnamon looks like

Cinnamon is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Dogs N Homes Rescue in London.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cinnamon, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cinnamon?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs N Homes Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cinnamon on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cinnamon if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs N Homes Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cinnamon already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cinnamon isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs N Homes Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cinnamon and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
