Adopt Clara

European Shorthair · Female · Young · 3 years

Current Update May 2026: CLARA needs an urgent home, as her physical condition has significantly deteriorated due to living on the streets. She needs a home. March 25, 2024: Clara is a kitten who, due to circumstances, found herself alone in an abandoned countryside house. She has managed to give birth twice and now needs a home and a family that will finally love her as she deserves, as Clara is a very affectionate, good-natured, and homely kitten who likes to be cozy and calm. She is going through a very hard time because of other cats due to territorial rivalry and some dogs that roam the area, making her very anxious. She needs a home so she can finally be happy. Her kittens were adopted, with Bimbo still searching for a home. The two have always been very close, but due to circumstances, only foster care was available, and it was for Bimbo, while Clara remains abandoned in the countryside, with the dangers that come with it. Please help her.

About Clara

What life with Clara looks like

Clara is a young adult european shorthair cat waiting at Sálvanos Protectora in Spain.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Clara, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Clara?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Sálvanos Protectora handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Clara on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Clara if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Sálvanos Protectora will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Clara already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Clara isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Sálvanos Protectora early rather than rehoming privately; they know Clara and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
