Clovis

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Kitten · 1 month

Do you remember Clovis? The cat trapped on Casimir Delavigne street who was supposed to be released after being spayed/neutered. Obviously, I can't release a cat that gives me cuddles... Unfortunately for me because it's always me who ends up bothered afterwards. So about a month later, Clovis is still with me and it's complicated! After 8 years on the street, sir has territory-saving habits and must learn to live in a community with other cats. I have to separate him because I can't take any risks of a fight with Toulouse (you know, the cat that cut himself on 30 cm, just by slipping on a board...) In short, in the slightest little fight, Toulouse will end up as a pile of skin. So Clovis has to stay apart and it's no longer possible because clearly he's bored, it's not a life. Clovis is nice, he comes towards you, rubs against your legs, he loves affection but beware, if something scares him, he bites! So what do I do? Put him back on his site, in the middle of cars, without shelter and to be chased by the residents of the residence? ➡️ WE ARE LOOKING FOR A SAFE GROUNDS, with shelter and food. ➡️ Or an foster family that accepts to take him for a while until we find a solution ➡️ Or, by miracle, adopters.

About Clovis

What life with Clovis looks like

Clovis is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at La Patte Normande in Bolleville.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Clovis, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Clovis?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. La Patte Normande handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Clovis on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Clovis if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — La Patte Normande will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Clovis already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Clovis isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with La Patte Normande early rather than rehoming privately; they know Clovis and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
