Cobo

Male · Young · 2 years

Here are the latest pictures and videos: December 2020, and now again lost. Despite all efforts, the male dogs in the house never got along in the long term, and Cobo, who came last, must go again. :-(( On September 7, 2020, after such a long time, Cobo found a home. April 2019, unfortunately, Cobo still hadn't found a home. Locked up for over 2 years............ In September 2017, Cobo is still waiting. People with experience who can clearly show him how to get through life would be good friends for him. It's hard to say about other dogs; during an outing he had initiated, where he had climbed over a fence (about 2m high), he wasn't so friendly to the other dog. But the other dog didn't react to this, and nothing happened. But certainly, he needs a person to work with him and make the decisions, not leaving it to Cobo. This is as said. May 3, 2017, Cobo is a very strong boy. The long time locked up makes him nervous, and he constantly tries to throw himself at me (almost knocking me over), he is very physical and needs urgent mental stimulation and exercise. Dog-experienced people are needed here who know how to handle such a powerhouse. We report again. December 16, 2016, Cobo is a very dear boy. He has no problems with other dogs. He runs nicely on a leash, is obedient even if another dog harasses him, and listens well to his person. He loves being with people and therefore is the perfect climber to get out of the runs to be with his beloved two-legged friends. We hope the nice boy will find his happiness soon and report again.

About Cobo

What life with Cobo looks like

Cobo is a young adult dog waiting at Tierhilfe Arme Pfoten in Arme Pfoten.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cobo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cobo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierhilfe Arme Pfoten handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cobo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cobo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierhilfe Arme Pfoten will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cobo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cobo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierhilfe Arme Pfoten early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cobo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
