Coffe

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Dog from Los Barrios Coffe arrived at the animal shelter in September 2026 at about 10 months old. He came in together with Milk, and we believe the two male dogs are brothers. Both males have settled in remarkably well at the shelter and are very sociable with people. Coffe is a bit shyer than his brother, but he is a very sweet and affectionate young dog who enjoys attention and affection. He also gets along well with other dogs. It is heartbreaking to think that a young dog like Coffe is already spending his days in a shelter. At the moment he lives more than 23.5 hours a day in a kennel and has only a short time each day to go outside. That is no life for a young dog who should be exploring the world, learning, playing, and growing up surrounded by love. Coffe deserves so much more. We hope that this lovable young dog will not have to spend his puppy days behind bars. He needs a responsible and loving family that will give him the security, care, and affection he deserves, and above all, one that will never let him down again. We hope Coffe's time at the shelter will be short and that he can soon begin the happy life he should have had from the start. Coffe had the good fortune to take part in a large event on the grounds where we hope to build our future shelter. He came from his foster home together with his furry friends Rey, Lisa, Bamba, and Milk, so that he could experience the day and have the chance to meet potential adopters. Here is what his dedicated volunteer told us about him: Coffe is a young male who is affectionate toward both adults and children. He enjoys going for walks and has a comfortable size for a family dog. He can be a bit persistent when it comes to other dogs. Unfortunately, no one fell in love with Coffe that day, so he returned to the shelter. Coffe is still waiting for the person who will give him the loving home forever that he deserves.

About Coffe

What life with Coffe looks like

Coffe is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Melampo in Melampo.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Coffe, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Coffe?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Melampo handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Coffe on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Coffe if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Melampo will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Coffe already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Coffe isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Melampo early rather than rehoming privately; they know Coffe and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
