Cola

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Fanta, Cola and Pepsi are three dogs who have known nothing but the gray walls of a kennel. They came to the canile as tiny, defenseless puppies - a place that offers no protection, but little else. They have never experienced the wide, open world outside. No meadows, no everyday sounds, no gentle hands of a family of their own. This has left its mark: all three are currently anxious dogs, who would rather make themselves invisible in unfamiliar situations. BUT in these three soft dog bodies beat infinitely loving hearts. They want to please, and you can tell in every moment: they would love to jump over their own shadow and leave the cage of their soul and the canile behind. They long to trust in humans completely, but fear sometimes holds them back like an invisible chain. That they can do it deep down is proven every day on site: to the familiar caregiver they have built trust. When they see this person, the ice melts, their eyes start to shine and they show what great, loyal and affectionate companions they really are. What Fanta, Cola and Pepsi need now: We are looking for special people for each of the three (they will be placed individually!) with the following requirements: Patience and time: People who do not expect anything from the dog and give him all the time in the world to arrive in the new life. A quiet environment: A rural or quiet living environment without the hustle and bustle of a city center would be ideal. A confident first dog: An existing, secure and cool first dog in the new home would be a huge help. Fanta, Cola and Pepsi orient themselves strongly on other dogs and could learn from a confident buddy that the world outside is not so scary. Fanta, Cola and Pepsi are like rough diamonds waiting in the dark to finally be polished. With the right amount of love, structure and empathy, they will develop into the most loyal companions for life. For questions about our protégés, or if you would like to offer COLA a place as a family member on a foster home or end point, please contact: . You will then receive by email in the first step our general information on the placement process or the foster activity and our form for self-disclosure.

About Cola

What life with Cola looks like

Cola is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at SardinienHunde e.V. in Germany.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cola, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cola?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SardinienHunde e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cola on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cola if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SardinienHunde e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Cola already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cola isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SardinienHunde e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cola and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
