Colin

Jack Russell Terrier · Male · Puppy

Colin is our handsome boy who can find new people and places daunting at times, but with time and positive socialisation at a pace he is comfortable with Colin is gradually building his confidence and showing his cheeky character and how affectionate he is. His new family will need to be keen to continue his positive reinforcement training in all areas and introducing him to new experiences in a gradual and force free way. Colin does enjoy his walks and exploring, therefore his new family will need to be fairly active and able to offer him the adventures he enjoys once he has settled. As he can find the outside world scary at times he will need a secure and private garden with 5ft fencing where he can comfortably spend time relaxing away from distractions. He can live with calm and understanding children 10 years and over that are used to nervous dogs. Can you offer this sweet boy his forever home? - Can live with calm children 10+ - Secure and private garden with 5ft fencing - Needs to be only animal home?

About Colin

What life with Colin looks like

Colin is a puppy/kitten jack russell terrier dog waiting at RSPCA Coventry and District Branch in United Kingdom.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Colin, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Colin?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA Coventry and District Branch handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Colin on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Colin if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — RSPCA Coventry and District Branch will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Colin already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Colin isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA Coventry and District Branch early rather than rehoming privately; they know Colin and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
