Cooper

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Cooper has finally found his home! His story: Cooper…intelligent, fond of being petted, super cute, athletic…! The wonderful dogman is waiting for his heart people at the wet and cold shelter in Fantanele. While his sister, Amora, was already allowed to leave, he had to stay alone and is suffering greatly, wasting his life in the kennel. Cooper is a real “purebred” stray. Recognizing a specific breed is speculation; it could be a hound or even a hunting dog. 😉 Cooper knows he is beautiful. He is confident and likes both humans and dogs. In the shelter, he gets along well with his fellow animals. Walking on a leash doesn’t bother him at all. The friendly male dog always approaches people positively and is happy to give kisses. He simply loves people and wants to interact with them at every opportunity. Whether he likes cats, we cannot say. We can imagine Cooper very well in an active home where he can accompany his people in everyday life and experience many adventures with them. Also, older children who already know respectful dog handling could be part of the family. Cooper was found on the street together with Amora, and we suspect that the two were abandoned together and are siblings. Cooper is 55 cm tall and weighs 21 kg, embodying pure joy of life. He proudly carries his tail high. For Cooper, we are looking for people who already have dog experience for a young, active, and confident male dog. With Cooper, you will have a lot of fun and an active partner by your side. Cooper wants to be properly exercised and looks forward to head and nose work. The approximately 3.5-year-old male dog wants to really take off now. He is looking forward to a visit to a dog training class, where he not only learns the dog ABC but also likes to participate in dog sports, such as mantrailing, to express his enthusiasm. Will you give your heart to Cooper? Then sign up with us quickly. He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. His EU pet passport is already at hand. Even a foster home would make him very happy! Thanks, Katja W.! You gave Cooper a name and thus an identity. As of: 27.04.

Stand: 27.04.2025

About Cooper

What life with Cooper looks like

Cooper is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cooper, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cooper?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cooper on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cooper if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cooper already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cooper isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cooper and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
