Coraima

Labrador Retriever · Female · Senior · 10 years

BIRTH DATE: 05/05/2016 BREED: MIX OF LABRADOR SITUATION: IN foster care She is allergic, so she has a lifelong treatment with Apoquel 16mg/24h. She also takes a hypoallergenic food. With this, she is perfectly controlled. CHARACTER: Coraima is a very sweet dog who arrived in very poor physical condition: with a lot of ear pain, severe itching, and stomach problems, but everything is now under control. Ideally, she should be a "single dog" and not live with other dogs, although she is currently doing well in her foster care home with two others. But due to the circumstances she has lived through, she is an animal rescue association resource and may have resource conflicts. It can be noted that she has suffered abuse. She is not compatible with cats. She walks well on a leash, is attentive to you, and has no problem with other dogs. On leash, there are situations that provoke fear, and she barks and may react without reaching anything. This is a fear reaction. It can be noted that she has had a difficult life. She may pull on the leash in specific situations. This is something that can be worked on with a bit of patience. In short, she can live in any environment. She is very smart and sweet. At home, she seeks company, although she also knows how to be alone. It can be noted that she has had a difficult life and had to fend for herself. She is a very loyal dog that melts with her gaze. She is happy lying next to you, simply with your company, but also enjoys her walks immensely. She is accustomed to living in a family. HISTORY: Coraima has been loaned to us. She arrived in poor health conditions, with fatal ear issues that required immediate veterinary intervention. Now she has perfect ears, and only regular cleaning will be needed. She also had hair loss in some areas due to scratching, as she was allergic to flea bites, which was resolved with proper deworming. Lastly, she had a duodenal obstruction because she had a mass of sand and pebbles in her stomach, which was resolved through an endoscopic evacuation. All this made Cori uncomfortable and in a lot of pain, which caused her a high degree of stress, but with good care, affection, and patience, she has improved a lot.

About Coraima

What life with Coraima looks like

Coraima is a senior labrador retriever dog waiting at SOS Golden in Spain.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Coraima, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Coraima?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SOS Golden handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Coraima on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Coraima if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SOS Golden will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Coraima already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Coraima isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SOS Golden early rather than rehoming privately; they know Coraima and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
