Cordón

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Two young Bodegueros, Cordón and his sister Guita, cautiously approached the spot where Alberto fed the cats. Despite Alberto's calls, they only came close to a certain point, maintaining a safe distance. Neither dog could be caught. However, they learned more about Alberto's routine each day and came punctually for the cat meal (and now also the dog meal). Alberto noticed that one of the dogs wore a rope around his neck, but because the dog, now named Cordón by Alberto, was too shy to come closer, he couldn't remove the rope. Alberto noticed the wound on Cordón's neck and wanted to help him. He decided to catch the dogs using a live trap. Cordón and Guita immediately went in, allowing Cordón to be taken directly to an animal clinic, where the rope was removed and the wound treated. Both dogs have since overcome their initial shyness around people and live in the animal shelter. They have opened up to all the volunteers, allowing themselves to be petted and playing happily with the people helping there. But they are not only friendly to the volunteers, Cordón and Guita also play joyfully with the other dogs. All the little beautiful puppies now need is their own people and a loving home where they can continue to flourish.

DE·Show original

© 2006-2026 by Tierschutzverein Europa e.V. - All rights reserved

About Cordón

What life with Cordón looks like

Cordón is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Europa in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cordón, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cordón?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Europa handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cordón on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cordón if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Europa will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Cordón already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cordón isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Europa early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cordón and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
