Adopt Csenge

Domestic Shorthair · Female · 2 years

CONDITIONS OF ADOPTION: The elderly owner could not cope with Csenge, a particularly active and talkative cat: she likes to make her voice heard and clearly indicates when she is hungry or when she longs for a little attention and play. Very friendly by nature, she loves being pampered and especially needs petting. Although veterinary visits and treatments are not among her favorite pastimes, she is basically very healthy and ready for adoption. Her relationship with other cats is not yet known, but due to her friendly nature, she has a good chance of getting along with them. We are looking for an owner who appreciates her company and does not mind if a purring little girl occasionally "discusses" the events of the day with him. Important! If I have taken your fancy, please only apply as an adopter if you are willing to commit to me for life and are a responsible pet owner, where the cat is not a garden decoration but a family member. Do you accept that when moving (whether abroad, from a garden to an apartment, or to another rental), you will take me with you as another family member and ensure that even if something happens to you, I will have a place and above all, a safe place to live.

About Csenge

What life with Csenge looks like

Csenge is a small adult domestic shorthair dog waiting at Rex Kutyaotthon in Budapest.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Csenge, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Csenge?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Rex Kutyaotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Csenge on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Csenge if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Rex Kutyaotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Csenge already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Csenge isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Rex Kutyaotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Csenge and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
