Violetta

Domestic Shorthair · Female · 2 years

On March 20, 2026, she was in the yard of the country house, they caught Violet from the street, and deep down she probably carries bad memories - which is indicated by the fact that she still flinches at sudden movements - but she has not lost her trust in people. An extremely kind and grateful cat who is now looking for a patient and understanding owner, with whom she can finally forget her fears. Spayed, completely healthy, and her FIV-FeLV-FIP tests are all negative. She does not get along with other cats, so she would like to be the only cat. If you could give her the security and calmness that this sensitive little girl needs, Violetta will be your grateful companion for life! Important! If I have captured your heart, please only apply to adopt me if you are willing to commit to me for life and are a responsible pet owner, where the cat is not just a garden decoration but a family member. Are you willing to take me with you, as another member of your family, when you move (whether abroad, from a garden to an apartment, or to another rental), and make sure that even if something happens to you, I will always have a place and especially safety to live.

About Violetta

What life with Violetta looks like

Violetta is a small adult domestic shorthair dog waiting at Rex Kutyaotthon in Budapest.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Needs patient owner due to past trauma and fearful reactions to sudden movements

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Violetta, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Violetta?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Rex Kutyaotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Violetta on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Violetta if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Rex Kutyaotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Violetta already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Violetta isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Rex Kutyaotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Violetta and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
