Cyryl

Male · Adult · 4 years

Cyryl has been with us for a short time, and has already stolen the hearts of many volunteers. He is a medium-sized dog with the character of a friendly bear. He loves human closeness - he happily cuddles and joyfully accepts every stroke. There is a lot of calmness in him, but he also has the energy and joy typical of a young dog. Many signs indicate that Cyryl once had his own person. He walks nicely by your side, responds to calls, and knows the command "sit". It is clear that human contact is very important to him and that he can be a great companion for daily walks. So far, his relationships with other dogs are not easy, but this may be due to the stress related to being in the animal shelter. Thanks to treats, Cyryl can calmly pass another dog, which gives great hope for further progress. The future caregiver should be ready to patiently work with him on building peaceful relationships with other dogs. We really don't want Cyryl to fade away in the animal shelter. With proper care and attention to health, he has many happy years ahead. We are looking for a careful and caring caregiver who will give him a sense of security and a real home. We are convinced that Cyryl will be a wonderful companion - both for a family and for a person living alone.

PL·Show original

To średniej wielkości pies o charakterze przyjaznego misia.

About Cyryl

What life with Cyryl looks like

Cyryl is a medium-sized adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Needs patient work on socialization with other dogs due to shelter stress

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cyryl, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cyryl?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cyryl on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cyryl if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cyryl already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cyryl isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cyryl and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
