Dahlia

Mixed Breed · Female · Kitten · 6 months

Dahlia Meet Dahlia, our gorgeous little tortie girl who is ready to find a forever home of her own! Dahlia has settled beautifully into cattery life and has really come out of her shell since making some lovely kitten friends. She can be a little quiet when you first meet her, taking her time to watch the world around her and make sure she knows what’s going on. But once she’s comfortable, Dahlia is more than happy to get right in amongst the action! She loves playing with the other kittens, joining in with all the fun and then finding a cosy blanket or bed to curl up on afterwards. One of her favourite things is simply watching the world go by, whether that’s keeping a close eye on the volunteers working away or sitting contentedly while the other kittens race around her. She’s such a lovely little character and we’re sure, with the right home, her confidence will continue to blossom.🥰 Dahlia would really benefit from having another young cat or kitten in her forever home, giving her a friend to play with, curl up beside and help her feel settled. We’d love to see this beautiful girl find a home where she can continue to grow in confidence and show her new family just how special she is. 🐾❤️

About Dahlia

What life with Dahlia looks like

Dahlia is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Almost Home Animal Rescue NI in Belfast.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇮🇪Adopting from Ireland

Irish shelters require a home check (often phone or video) and an adoption contract. Animals are vaccinated, chipped, and registered. Cross-border placements to mainland Europe require the rabies titer test (TRACES system).

Frequently asked

Adopting Dahlia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dahlia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Almost Home Animal Rescue NI handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dahlia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dahlia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Almost Home Animal Rescue NI will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dahlia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dahlia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Almost Home Animal Rescue NI early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dahlia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
