Daisy

Female · Senior · 8 years

Meet Daisy, a sweet 6-year-old mixed-breed dog. She came to us after her owner passed away. Daisy is a calm lady who knows exactly what she wants. She loves being with her human companion and does an excellent job guarding the house. Outside, she remains composed and pays little attention to her surroundings; instead, she prefers to take her time sniffing around leisurely—and once she’s adjusted, she could even be allowed to roam off-leash. She has no problem traveling by car; in the vehicle, she stays nicely on your lap until you reach your destination. At home, she loves curling up next to you on the couch or snoozing peacefully in her basket. We’re looking for a quiet home for Daisy, ideally with one or two adults—no children, please. She can live harmoniously with cats. She enjoys playing with other dogs, and she’s already found a playmate in Max! However, inside the home, she’d rather be the only dog. Since Daisy can’t climb stairs, we’re seeking a ground-floor home or an apartment equipped with an elevator. Are you looking for a sweet, affectionate companion who can share life’s joys with you? Then Daisy might just be the perfect match for you! —Are you heading on vacation soon? —Address and contact details:

About Daisy

What life with Daisy looks like

Daisy is a senior dog waiting at Dierenasiel Utrecht in Utrecht.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Daisy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Daisy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierenasiel Utrecht handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Daisy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Daisy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierenasiel Utrecht will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Daisy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Daisy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierenasiel Utrecht early rather than rehoming privately; they know Daisy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
