Dale

Male · Young · 1 year

Dale, a charming mixed-breed dog, is looking for a new home. The loving young dog was found on the streets of Békéscsaba, Hungary, along with his dog companion Chip. A kind animal lover rescued the two completely matted dogs and brought them to our Hungarian partner animal shelter. Since they were not chipped and no one was looking for them, Dale now hopes for a successful dog placement through international animal rescue. Dale is ideal as a family dog or also as a social second dog. A foster home (foster dog only Berlin/surroundings), which makes the start easier for him, would also be a great benefit, provided that no one falls in love with him and he would otherwise have to remain in the animal shelter. Dale is a lively rescue dog. The little dog is initially somewhat reserved towards strangers. However, with friendly words and caresses, he quickly thaws. He is very people-oriented, affectionate, likes to climb onto laps and gives kisses. A loyal dog is looking for a home and people who appreciate his loving nature. The young mixed-breed dog learns quickly and shows himself obedient. He is active, likes to play ball and gets along very well with his fellow dogs. He has recently learned to walk on a leash. He is curious to discover new places. Dale is looking for a home in a slightly quieter area. A family, preferably with some older children, who can already show understanding for a rescue dog. Dale needs time to arrive and enjoy long walks in the countryside every day. A nice dog already in the family is welcome, but not a must. Cats should not be present in the new family. In a cat test, he was not comfortable with them and barked at them out of fear. As always, we point out that a dog from international animal rescue needs time, patience and a loving arrival. New impressions, new routines and new bonds should be able to grow in peace. Whoever is willing to go this way together will be rewarded with a very special deep connection. The handsome dog is of course castrated, chipped, vaccinated, dewormed, examined by a veterinarian, has an EU pet passport and will only be placed in loving hands with a protection contract. The handover could take place in Berlin or alternatively in the Stuttgart area, provided that someone falls in love with him and wants to give him a forever home. About Dale

What life with Dale looks like

Dale is a large young adult dog waiting at animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen in Ketzin.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dale, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dale?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dale on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dale if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dale already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dale isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dale and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
