Dandelion

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 3 months

Update 1.12.2025: Dandelion: This tiny 6kg sweetheart is bursting with life and curiosity! Don’t let her size fool you- she has a big heart and an even bigger personality. She’s wonderfully integrated in a group of dogs her age. With her charming, cheeky spirit, she often becomes the little boss of the group. Dandelion is now 6 months old and ready for her forever home. Could Dandelion be the one brighten your winter season ? Update 29.8.2025: Here is a new photo of him: Front left: Mookie, front right: Yogi, in the middle it’s Dandelion and the last one Ranger. His story: Dandelion was abandoned with his 5 brothers and sisters and is now cared for in the Souda Shelter-please, adopt this cute girl! As if two new pups were not enough, just when we began getting our population to lessen along comes a tourist named Hans who happened to jog past SIX babies. Say hello to Bear, Mookie, Dandelion, Boo-boo, Yogi, and Ranger — six tiny bundles of love currently growing up safe and sound at our shelter. At just 1.5 to 2 months old and weighing around 2–3 kilos each, these pups are still at the very beginning of their journey, but already stealing hearts left and right! Each day, we see their little personalities start to shine — some are curious, others cuddly, all of them full of puppy charm. As they grow, they’ll need patient, loving homes that can guide them through the next stages of puppyhood — socialization, training, and lots of snuggles included. It’s too early to tell exactly how big they’ll get, we are guessing around 10 kg, but one thing is certain: they’re ready to start life in a forever home. If you’re looking to welcome a puppy into your heart and home, now’s the perfect time to meet this adorable crew. They can’t wait to meet you!

About Dandelion

What life with Dandelion looks like

Dandelion is a very small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Souda Shelter in Chania.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇷Adopting from Greece

Greek shelters often partner with Northern European rescue groups for placements. Animals are sterilized, vaccinated, and chipped before adoption. Fees vary widely depending on whether the shelter is municipal or NGO-run.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dandelion, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dandelion?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Souda Shelter handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dandelion on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dandelion if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Souda Shelter will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dandelion already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dandelion isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Souda Shelter early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dandelion and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
