Name: Dandy Age: 18 months Breed: Cocker Spaniel Sex: Female Dandy is a beautiful 18-month-old Cocker Spaniel with the sweetest nature. She is a really lovely girl who is already showing us what a wonderful companion she could become. Temperament & Personality Dandy has an adorable nature and is a gentle, affectionate girl. She absolutely enjoys her cuddles and loves being around her people. She can be a little nervous when she first meets someone or finds herself in a new situation, but with patience, reassurance and time, she quickly begins to feel more comfortable. Once she knows you, her lovely personality really starts to shine. ❤️ Behaviour & Suitability Dandy is family friendly and we feel she would make a wonderful addition to the right family. As with any rescue dog, Dandy will need a little time to settle into her new surroundings and build confidence. Her new family should be prepared to give her the patience, kindness and reassurance she needs while she finds her feet. She has so much potential to become a wonderful family companion. Cats: Not cat tested Children: Family friendly Dogs: To be assessed as part of her adoption process Health & Exercise Notes Dandy is a young Cocker Spaniel and will need the usual combination of exercise, enrichment, training and mental stimulation that comes with the breed. ✔ Vaccinated ✔ Parasite treated ✔ Microchipped ✘ Still intact ✘ Not cat tested Dandy is looking for a loving family who will give her the time and understanding she needs to settle and build confidence. She may be a little nervous initially, but underneath that is a beautiful, affectionate girl who simply wants to feel safe and loved. We think Dandy has all the makings of a very special companion. 🐾❤️

About Dandy

What life with Dandy looks like

Dandy is a puppy/kitten cocker spaniel dog waiting at Midlands Dog Rescue in United Kingdom.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dandy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dandy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Midlands Dog Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dandy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dandy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Midlands Dog Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dandy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dandy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Midlands Dog Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dandy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
