Daniela

Border Collie · Female · Young · 1 year

Border Collie Daniela - Past unknown, Future sought Daniela is a beautiful black and white Border Collie female dog that was surrendered to the animal shelter. Unfortunately, we know nothing about her past life - her history is completely unknown. And yet, Daniela already shows how much potential she has: she meets people openly, friendly and approachable, and she also gets along very well with the other dogs in the shelter. She shows herself to be social and uncomplicated in dealing with her fellow dogs. Of course, Daniela remains a small surprise egg. We do not know what she already knows, what she has learned or what experiences she has had in her previous life. Therefore, her future people should not have expectations of a "finished dog", but rather enjoy taking Daniela under their wing with patience, calmness and loving consistency and discovering the world together with her. As a Border Collie, she certainly brings brains, sensitivity and a desire for meaningful occupation. Therefore, people are sought who are willing to really engage with Daniela, to physically and mentally exhaust her appropriately and at the same time convey the necessary calmness to her. We wish for Daniela a home where she can finally arrive and find people who do not ask what lies behind her, but look with her at what lies ahead. A loving home for a whole dog's life? Daniela would also be very happy about a foster home. Here are Daniela's videos: Video 1 Video 2

About Daniela

What life with Daniela looks like

Daniela is a young adult border collie dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Daniela, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Daniela?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Daniela on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Daniela if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Daniela already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Daniela isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Daniela and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
