adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Daris has finally found his home! His story: Dream Dog on Light Feet! For the little Daris, we are urgently seeking loving and reliable people who will adopt him and bring him into a caring home. Daris was rescued by our staff from the streets. He was infested with fleas, nearly completely hairless, and had inflamed skin. With lots of love, patience, and care, Daris was brought back to health, and his skin condition has significantly improved. His fur has fully grown back, he is completely healed, and one can now see what a handsome, black-and-white fellow he actually is. A ray of sunshine on the inside and out! Although our staff in Romania have done a great job, Paul’s Shelter is not the right place for the weakened, young male dog to fully recover. It is very important that Daris finds a loving and experienced family as soon as possible, one that pays attention to making the little guy's life as stress-free as possible, feeds him well, and provides the care and treatment he needs. Of course, it would be ideal if we could find a permanent home for Daris directly, but a foster home would also be a great opportunity for the dear fellow. Daris is just a normal young dog – friendly, lively, and playful. And one can now see that Daris is a particularly beautiful specimen. A lively sparkle has returned to his eyes, and one can see that he is ready to start a new, better life with full force. He stands 45 cm at the shoulder and is not expected to grow any more. Daris is now about 2.5 years old and has passed through puberty. During this time, a dog like Daris also needs a loving and consistent upbringing and trusted people to look up to. One should spend as much time as possible with the young dog and gather many positive experiences to strengthen the bond with Daris. Attending a positively working dog training class will also boost Daris's self-confidence and keep him both physically and mentally challenged. If you are the people who are looking forward to showing Daris how wonderful life as a house and family dog can be, then sign up. Daris is now named after you, Susanne L.! You gave Daris his name. Daris is Arabic and means 'the Valuable'. Thank you, Lothar R.! You support Daris with a monthly sponsorship. As of 03.05. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vielen Dank Susanne L.! Du hast Daris seinen Namen geschenkt. Daris ist arabisch und bedeutet ‚der Wertvolle‘. Lieben Dank Lothar R.! Du unterstützt Daris mit einer monatlichen Patenschaft. Stand: 03.05.2024

About Daris

What life with Daris looks like

Daris is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Daris, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Daris?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Daris on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Daris if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Daris already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Daris isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Daris and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
