Dash

Mixed Breed Β· Male Β· Adult Β· 4 years

Dash***IN UK FOSTER*** Male dog, medium in size at 15-16kg. Approx. 4 years old (October 2026). Would make the perfect addition to an active home. Gets on well with other dogs but can't live with cats as he likes to chase them! Can be adopted to homes with children over the age of 12. Meet DashThis is Dash who is looking for a new forever home. He’s currently in Norfolk but can be transported throughout the UK to the right home. Sadly for him it's third time lucky looking for a home, through no fault of his own. In 2024 he came back into our care because he couldn't cope with the young member of the family. He has since had a couple of years in a lovely home but unfortunately due to their subsequent health conditions and declining mobility, his current adopters don't feel he is getting the best life, so reluctantly have asked us to find him a new home. Dash is eager to please and play and his toys. He enjoys a cuddle and has been trained not to get up on the furniture. Dash is happy to greet people in and outside of the home. His regular dog walker said he is excellent with all other dogs of any shape or size and has excellent recall, unless he sees a squirrel then it takes him a little longer to come back! He walks well on the lead except when he sees a cat then he would love to chase! He travels well in the car and happily in a crate in the dog walkers van. When he realises he is close to his destination he gets a little excited! Dash can be left for up to 4 hours, and is used to staying in kennels when his adopters are away. What Dash's current owners would really like for him is a home where he can go for his regular walks which he loves and be part of a family. As Dash has only had interaction with older grandchildren we are looking for a home with no children or children 12 plus. Dash would make a great addition to an active family home or someone looking for a companion to share life’s adventures! Dash is vaccinated, neutered, and negative on tests. Our dogs are tested for the following conditions as part of our standard testing procedure - Heartworm, Anaplasmosis, Lyme Disease, Ehrlichiosis and Brucellosis (Since 11th June 2021). About Dash

What life with Dash looks like

Dash is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Balkan Underdogs in Tirana.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dash, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dash?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Balkan Underdogs handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dash on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dash if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Balkan Underdogs will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Dash already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dash isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Balkan Underdogs early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dash and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
