Daylon

European Shorthair Β· Male

Daylon is ready for a new chapter! 🏑✨ The approximately 2-year-old, neutered male cat Daylon is looking for people who want to give him a loving and safe home. ❀️ Unfortunately, his previous living situation was not ideal, so we now wish for Daylon a place where he can find peace and be accepted with a lot of understanding. 🐾 For the gentle cat, we are looking for an apartment with a suitable companion, so he can continue to maintain social contacts with another cat and not be alone. 🐱🐱 With time, patience and a loving environment, Daylon can gain trust and show what a great companion is in him. πŸ’• πŸ“© If you would like to get to know Daylon and give him a new home, please do not hesitate to contact us!

About Daylon

What life with Daylon looks like

Daylon is a adult european shorthair cat waiting at Landestierschutzverein Steiermark in Graz.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction β€” every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

πŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΉAdopting from Austria

Austrian shelters follow the federal Tierschutzgesetz framework: adopters sign a Schutzvertrag (protection contract) committing to the animal's welfare. Spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations are included; fees typically range €150–€350.

Frequently asked

Adopting Daylon, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Daylon?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Landestierschutzverein Steiermark handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Daylon on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Daylon if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Landestierschutzverein Steiermark will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Daylon already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Daylon isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Landestierschutzverein Steiermark early rather than rehoming privately; they know Daylon and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
