Debbie

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

General Name: Debbie Gender: female dog neutered: Yes Born around: September 2024 Size: approximately 50cm, 15kg Location: 52074 Aachen Sitter: no Reserved: no Character Debbie lives currently in her home in 52074 Aachen. As it is too noisy and too chaotic for Debbie, we are looking for a new, quiet, and experienced home for her. Debbie came from a Romanian animal shelter to Germany in September 2025. Initially placed in a foster home, and then rehomed with a family of three teenagers. However, it is too chaotic and stressful for her here. Debbie is a watchful, sensitive, and very eager-to-learn female dog. She has quickly learned basic commands, travels comfortably in the car, is house-trained, and has already shown some level of comfort on a leash. Dog encounters on a leash still cause stress for Debbie, but she is very social with other dogs in a run-free environment. Debbie cannot yet be left alone. This must be practiced in small steps. It has been shown that Debbie in a family with a lot of activity, constant door opening and closing, and people moving around is overstimulated and overexcited. She cannot relax in this environment and feels compelled to handle the situation under this stress. She has shown this through barking and snapping in some situations. We are looking for a home for Debbie where she can relax and find peace. A home with enough guidance and orientation and a quiet environment would be ideal, preferably with a garden and an experienced individual. Debbie is reserved but curious and open. Debie loves to play in the garden and enjoys walks in a quiet environment. Debbie is vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped and will be rehomed through our organization, Freundekreis Notfallchen e.V. Past We are not aware of her past. She likely came from the streets or was abandoned there. Information The parentage is unknown, so no information can be given about the included breeds.

About Debbie

What life with Debbie looks like

Debbie is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Freundeskreis Notfellchen e.V. in Dorsten.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Debbie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Debbie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Freundeskreis Notfellchen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Debbie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Debbie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Freundeskreis Notfellchen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Debbie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Debbie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Freundeskreis Notfellchen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Debbie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
