Dela

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Dela, a female puppy, has been at the shelter since January 2026. She was born around June 2025 and is estimated to be between 40-59 cm tall. Watch her video profile to learn more! Dela is a gentle, sensitive young dog who observes her surroundings calmly and seeks human interaction. She is interested in visitors, navigates well around people, and follows events attentively. Physical contact is currently approached with caution. As she gets to know you better, she will become more comfortable. Her personality will continue to develop over the coming weeks and months. If you want more information about this puppy, please contact our placement team. If nothing matches this puppy, please delete the entire container. We suspect that HUNDENAME is a Herdenschutzhund (HSH). Please inform yourself about the requirements for adopting a HSH. HSH mixes are often very independent and need confident leadership. HUNDENAME has a cropped ear/two cropped ears/a cropped tail. Many dogs in Romania have their tails cut off to make them appear more dangerous. HUNDENAME has a short tail. It is unclear whether his/her tail was cropped or is congenital. HUNDENAME is currently underweight. Dogs on the streets or in killing stations often receive little to no food, so they become emaciated. However, the shelter is providing HUNDENAME with more food, and he/she should soon be at a normal weight. HUNDENAME has been ill with parvovirus. Fortunately, the little one survived the virus. Our placement team knows the exact health status best. If you have any questions, please send us a message. For Dela, we are looking for a calm, empathetic home with patient people who can give her time to adjust at her own pace and show her the world. Puppies should not grow up in shelters. Therefore, we urgently need a loving home or an experienced foster home for this little puppy - a place where she can discover the world, build trust, and simply be a puppy. Anyone who adopts a puppy should be aware of how demanding everyday life with a young dog can be: As soon as housebreaking is accomplished, the "wild puberty" often begins - full of energy, uncertainties, and new challenges. The first years of life are an exciting journey that humans and dogs go through together - with ups and downs and many learning moments. We want people with patience, empathy, and perseverance for this puppy - and with the understanding that rescue dogs often bring a certain history with them. How they react to their new life in Germany can never be fully predicted. But one thing is certain: By adopting instead of buying, you are not only giving a second chance to an animal, but also actively deciding against animal suffering - and for a life with a very special companion by your side. In love yet? Send us a self-disclosure! Adoption If you are considering adoption, first read through the placement process. All dogs are vaccinated, chipped, dewormed, flea-treated, and neutered (except for puppies up to 6 months and very old dogs) before they leave. Dogs older than 1 year are also tested for Mediterranean diseases. If you have any questions, please send a message to our placement team.

About Dela

What life with Dela looks like

Dela is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hunderettung Europa e.V. in Duisburg.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dela, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dela?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hunderettung Europa e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dela on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dela if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hunderettung Europa e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Dela already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dela isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hunderettung Europa e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dela and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
