Dennis mit dem ganz eigenen Charakter → Rasse: mixed breed (Bosnian Greyhound)→ Geschlecht: male→ Geboren: ca. 2017 → Grösse / Gewicht ca: 65 cm / 30 kg→ neutered: ja→ vaccinated: ja→ Kennzeichnung: Chip→ compatible mit: male dogs und female dogs nach Sympathie→ Unverträglich mit: cats→ Patenschaften möglich: jaDescription: Dennis has his own, initially hard-to-read character. This is probably due to his past, as he was found at a school where children mistreated him, kicked him, and threw stones at him. He just wanted to get cuddles and yummy treats; he paid for these experiences with bad ones. In himself, he is a very nice dog who loves to be touched and stroked, but not by everyone. He has a fundamental aversion to some people, even if they have never done him any harm. Additionally, he shows a watchful nature, so he should move to a rural, quiet home without much visitor traffic and commotion. He cannot be rehomed to a home with small children, as we see the risk of an accident too great. His new home should definitely be dog-experienced and consistent, as well as exuding strength and authority. Note: This animal is still abroad and is looking for a foster or permanent home. If you would like to offer a foster home to increase the chances of rehoming, please contact us. We are grateful for any help.

What life with Dennis mit dem ganz eigenen Charakter looks like

Dennis mit dem ganz eigenen Charakter is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Franz von Assisi e.V. in Germany.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

How do I contact the shelter about Dennis mit dem ganz eigenen Charakter?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Franz von Assisi e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dennis mit dem ganz eigenen Charakter on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dennis mit dem ganz eigenen Charakter if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Franz von Assisi e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Dennis mit dem ganz eigenen Charakter already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dennis mit dem ganz eigenen Charakter isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Franz von Assisi e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dennis mit dem ganz eigenen Charakter and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
