During our project and spay/neuter tour in March 2024, we of course also reserved some time to see dogs that are already listed on our website. Among these dogs were the siblings we had met during our project tour in May 2023. Back then, they were still puppies... While the sisters Dara and Delfina were already allowed to travel to Germany, Damian, Desdemona, Damocle, Daphne, and Delia are still waiting for their chance to leave the Rifugio. The more time passes, the fewer chances they have. Damian, Desdemona, Damocle, Daphne, and Delia have grown into beautiful dogs. And although they have had far too little human interaction, they are quite open. For example, Daphne, after initially looking at us skeptically, couldn’t get enough cuddles. And the other siblings also warmed up relatively quickly and followed our actions very attentively. Only Desdemona and Damocle were a bit more reserved. It broke our hearts to have to leave the dogs back in their enclosure, knowing that the staff at the Rifugio simply don’t have the time to care for the dogs as intensively as would be desirable. Day after day, a sad, lonely day passes. And for us, the feeling of being helpless in the face of the situation becomes more oppressive. We would have liked to tell the two of them that they don’t have to wait much longer. But there is still no foster home or permanent family in sight. Perhaps you are moved by the fate of Damian, Desdemona, Damocle, Daphne, or Delia? Perhaps you want to help one of the dogs on their way to a new, better life? Maybe as a foster home? Während unserer Projekt- und Kastrationstour Mitte März 2024 hatten wir uns natürlich auch etwas Zeit reserviert, um Hunde wiederzusehen, die schon auf unserer Webseite zu finden sind. Zu diesen Hunden gehörten auch die Geschwister, die wir bereits bei unserer Projekttour im Mai 2023 kennengelernt hatten. Damals noch als Welpen ... Während die Schwestern Dara und Delfina bereits nach Deutschland reisen durften, warten Damian, Desdemona, Damocle, Daphne und Delia immer noch auf ihre Chancen, das Rifugio endlich verlassen zu können. Je mehr Zeit ins Land geht, desto mehr schwinden ihre Chancen. Damian, Desdemona, Damocle, Daphne und Delia haben sich zu schönen Hunden entwickelt. Und obwohl sie viel zu wenig menschliche Ansprache haben, sind sie doch durchaus aufgeschlossen. Z. B. konnte Daphne, nachdem sie uns eine Weile skeptisch betrachtet hatte, dann gar nicht genug Streicheleinheiten bekommen. Und auch die anderen Geschwister tauten relativ schnell auf und verfolgten unsere Aktion sehr aufmerksam. Lediglich Desdemona und Damocle waren etwas zurückhaltender. Es tat uns in der Seele weh, die Hunde dann wieder in ihrem Gehege zurücklassen zu müssen in dem Wissen, dass die Mitarbeiter des Rifugio einfach nicht die Zeit haben, sich so intensiv um die Hunde zu kümmern, wie es wünschenswert wäre. So vergeht ein trauriger, einsamer Tag nach dem anderen. Und für uns wird das Gefühl, der Situation hilflos gegenüberzustehen, immer bedrückender. Dabei hätten wir den beiden so gern gesagt, dass sie nicht mehr lange warten müssen. Aber es ist ja noch keine Pflegestelle oder gar Endfamilie in Sicht. Vielleicht rührt Sie das Schicksal von Damian, Desdemona, Damocle, Daphne oder Delia? Vielleicht möchten Sie einem der Hunde auf dem Weg in ein neues, besseres Leben helfen? Vielleicht als Pflegestelle? Oder möchten Sie Ihre Familie durch einen dieser tollen Hunde komplettieren?
