This beautiful male Husky has already had several owners in his young life. Most recently, he had to be given up because there were problems with the existing dogs at his previous home. Now, ironically, he’s spending the hot summer months in the shelter—a not-so-easy situation for a Nordic dog with a thick coat. Deus is a typical Husky: confident, intelligent, and with a distinct personality of his own. He loves exercise, adventure, and nature. He’s especially happy on long walks in the forest, where he jumps over tree trunks, curiously explores his surroundings, and enthusiastically searches for his favorite treasure—a tennis ball. Water is also one of his great passions, and he leaps into the car with great anticipation as soon as the door opens. Despite his typical Husky character, Deus has a wonderful trait: he’s highly food-motivated and therefore easy to engage in training. However, at the shelter, he lacks the mental and physical stimulation he needs. The combination of insufficient exercise and his love of food has led him to carry a bit too much weight. But with enough activity, this will surely change quickly. We’re looking for an active home for Deus—with experience handling Huskies or other Nordic working breeds. People who understand his needs, can provide him with both physical and mental stimulation, and enjoy spending lots of time outdoors in nature. A home in a cooler region or one with plenty of green space would be ideal for him. Due to his breed-typical instincts, we’re currently not placing Deus with small children or small pets. Der wunderschöne Husky-Rüde hatte in seinem jungen Leben bereits mehrere Besitzer. Zuletzt musste er abgegeben werden, weil es im bisherigen Zuhause Probleme mit den vorhandenen Hunden gab. Nun sitzt er ausgerechnet während der heißen Sommermonate im Tierheim – keine leichte Situation für einen nordischen Hund mit dichtem Fell. Deus ist ein typischer Husky: selbstbewusst, intelligent und mit einer eigenen Persönlichkeit. Er liebt Bewegung, Abenteuer und die Natur. Besonders glücklich ist er bei ausgedehnten Spaziergängen im Wald, wo er über Baumstämme springt, neugierig seine Umgebung erkundet und mit Begeisterung nach seinem Lieblingsschatz – einem Tennisball – sucht. Auch Wasser gehört zu seinen großen Leidenschaften, und ins Auto springt er voller Vorfreude, sobald sich die Tür öffnet. Trotz seines huskytypischen Charakters bringt Deus eine tolle Eigenschaft mit: Er ist sehr futtermotiviert und lässt sich dadurch gut für Training begeistern. Im Tierheim fehlt ihm jedoch die Auslastung, die er braucht. Die Kombination aus Bewegungsmangel und seiner Vorliebe für Futter hat dazu geführt, dass er etwas zu viel Gewicht mit sich trägt. Mit ausreichend Aktivität wird sich das aber sicher schnell wieder ändern. Für Deus wünschen wir uns ein aktives Zuhause mit Erfahrung im Umgang mit Huskys oder anderen nordischen Arbeitsrassen. Menschen, die seine Bedürfnisse kennen, ihm sowohl körperliche als auch geistige Auslastung bieten und Freude daran haben, viel Zeit in der Natur zu verbringen. Ein Zuhause in einer eher kühleren Region oder mit viel Platz im Grünen wäre für ihn ideal. Aufgrund seiner rassetypischen Instinkte vermitteln wir Deus derzeit nicht zu kleinen Kindern oder Kleintieren. Deus ist kastriert, geimpft, gechipt und hat einen EU-Heimtierausweis.
