Deutsch Kurzhaar Rüde „Eddi „

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 4 years

Eddie - Cuddle dog with a strong work ethic. With great reluctance, we have to part with our 4-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer Eddie (17.05.2022) mainly for health reasons. Eddie is an incredible cooperative dog and very open towards people. He loves to cuddle, seeks the company of his humans and likes to accompany them through daily life. He is now a super office dog and can relax well there. So far, Eddie has not been trained for hunting. However, he is very suitable for carting, object indication or dummy work and should be appropriately trained. When working, he shows great perseverance and a lot of motivation. However, in daily life, Eddie needs clear structures and confident guidance. In hectic situations, he sometimes loses his nerve and becomes easily excited - especially if there is a lot of commotion around him. Eddie currently lives with two young children and gets along very well with children in general. Nevertheless, we notice that the chaotic family life often stresses him and he needs a lot of guidance. Therefore, we are looking for a calmer home for him. Eddie currently gets along well with an intact female dog. A confident female dog in the new home would probably help him a lot and give him additional orientation. With male dogs, it depends on the sympathy. Eddie can now be left alone for several hours together with the existing female dog. In the new home, this would probably have to be built up and practiced again. Outdoors, Eddie shows strong interest in environmental stimuli and quickly notices them. However, off-leash walking is possible with the right guidance - he has had no hunting success so far. In general, Eddie tends to get lost in expectations during daily life and therefore benefits greatly from clear rules, calmness and a structured environment. If these conditions are met, Eddie is an incredible wonderful and loyal companion. Cats should not live in the new home. Eddie was microchipped in December (hormone chip). We place great importance on a thorough getting to know each other, so that Eddie and his future humans really match well. Location: 73765 Neuhausen. Standort: 73765 Neuhausen. About Deutsch Kurzhaar Rüde „Eddi „

What life with Deutsch Kurzhaar Rüde „Eddi „ looks like

Deutsch Kurzhaar Rüde „Eddi „ is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Jagdhunde in Not e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Deutsch Kurzhaar Rüde „Eddi „, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Deutsch Kurzhaar Rüde „Eddi „?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Jagdhunde in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Deutsch Kurzhaar Rüde „Eddi „ on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Deutsch Kurzhaar Rüde „Eddi „ if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Jagdhunde in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Deutsch Kurzhaar Rüde „Eddi „ already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Deutsch Kurzhaar Rüde „Eddi „ isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Jagdhunde in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Deutsch Kurzhaar Rüde „Eddi „ and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
