Diablotine

European Shorthair · Female · Senior · 13 years

Identified by electronic chip Type: European Color: Tricolor — Coat: Short Spayed Negative FIV (AIDS) and FeLV (Leukemia) tests Vaccinated against Typhus and Coryza In foster care There are cats whose beauty immediately catches the eye, and then there are those who blend into the shadows—discreet, silent. I’m one of those little souls that rarely get noticed. People call me Diablotine, or Didi among close friends. I’m 13 years old, and while my coat bears the invisible scars of life, my eyes tell a different story: a heart that remains intact, overflowing with immense, pure love. Life hasn’t exactly spared me. I’ve known the streets, loneliness, and cold. Read more... Then, a gentle hand finally offered me a home—a place of warmth and affection, filled with loving touches. But this fragile happiness shattered the day my caregiver had to leave, her heart heavy, entrusting me to the shelter. There, the vets discovered what lies hidden behind my gentle demeanor: arthritis, hyperthyroidism, early signs of senility…and a lifelong daily treatment regimen. To many, these words sound frightening. They seem to slam doors shut. Yet, behind this diagnosis, I’m just a little grandma full of humanity. My paws may be tired, but I trot happily whenever someone calls my name. I savor my treats with an appetite for life, and I talk a lot. I meow, I share stories, I confide in you about my little joys. Sometimes, a spark lights up inside me, and I almost become a kitten again—playing as if time no longer holds any power over me. And then there’s my favorite ritual: when the urge strikes, I come to find my human and ask them to lie down beside me. When I decide it’s time, they really don’t have much choice. All I want is to feel another presence, a heart beating close to mine. Today, I’m in foster care—loved, calm, and at peace. But I’m waiting for a miracle: a real home. A loving presence, a soft cushion for my weary head, and if possible, a little patch of greenery or a secure balcony where I can feel the sun warming my fur. To ensure my health doesn’t hold me back, the shelter can offer me a retirement basket—it’ll cover all my veterinary expenses. Your role? To give me what money can’t buy: a roof over my head, tenderness, and the certainty that I’ll never be abandoned again. Elderly cats often fade away unnoticed. I don’t want to end up like that. I deserve, too, the sweetness of a loving home where my naps will finally taste like happiness. Maybe this miracle is you. Find Diablotine on the shelter’s Facebook page.

About Diablotine

What life with Diablotine looks like

Diablotine is a senior european shorthair cat waiting at Le Regroupement Des Chats Perdus in France.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Diablotine, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Diablotine?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Le Regroupement Des Chats Perdus handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Diablotine on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Diablotine if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Le Regroupement Des Chats Perdus will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Diablotine already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Diablotine isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Le Regroupement Des Chats Perdus early rather than rehoming privately; they know Diablotine and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
